Austin Lindy Exchange 2017

Austin Lindy Exchange - Nov. 16 - 19

Join the Austin Swing Syndicate from November 16 - 19, 2017 for four days of dancing and live music at the 18th annual Austin Lindy Exchange!

5 Incredible DJ's

Jerry Warwick (Dallas)

Jerry has been DJ’ing swing and jazz for dancers since 2001. He is the house DJ for the largest weekly swing night in DFW at Sons of Hermann Hall. He’s seen lots of trends in lindy hop and in the music you dance to, and it continues to get better and better. He is honored to once again be a DJ at Austin Lindy Exchange.

Joanna Lucero (Austin)

Joanna owes her love of jazz era music to a slightly unhealthy childhood obsession with I Love Lucy. The show introduced her to many classic tunes and piqued her interest in all things old-timey. Through dancing, Joanna has expanded her knowledge of jazz music to cater to dancers of varying styles. And as a DJ, she aims to keep that driving energy for the dance alive on the floor and in dancers’ hearts.

Brooks Prumo (Austin)

Brooks began his DJ-ing on the radio; now Brooks DJs for dancing. An avid swing dancer himself, Brooks enjoys tried-and-true swing music for dancing. Some of his favorite musicians are Count Basie, Lester Young, Earl Hines, Duke Ellington, Freddie Green, and Jo Jones. Brooks believes energy is the most important ingredient for DJ-ing, and plans on demonstrating just why that is, the next time you hear him.

Ben Luhrman (San Antonio)

Ben Luhrman started DJ-ing in 2008 with the San Antonio Swing dance society. Now he hosts "Rockin in Rhythm" a weekly radio show on KRTU jazz 91.7 FM in San Antonio Sunday's 9am-10am. He also has several DJ residencies at Skyline Swing every first Saturday at Trinity University with Jim Cullum Jazz Band, the Soul Spot, and an all vinyl Sunday soul brunch at Tucker's Kozy Korner 11-3. He loves tap dancing, swing dancing, and jazz music!

Allison Lemley (Houston)

Allie is a native Houstonian who discovered lindy hop in 1998 and is still addicted to this day.  Swing dancing is her favorite way to learn about and interpret music.  While DJ-ing, Allie enjoys watching dancers create their own story through each song on the dance floor.  She is excited to be among the list of talented DJ's this year at ALX.
