Special Guest DJs
Jesse Miner - San Francisco, CA
Lindy Hop
DJ Jesse Miner specializes in swinging jazz and blues music. For more than 10 years, Jesse has shared swinging sounds across the country, from competitions and camps on the east coast to nightclubs in his hometown of San Francisco and every hop spot in between. Jesse is thrilled to play swinging songs that keep the dance floor jumping. His relentless quest for music that is "in the pocket" means that every set Jesse plays is a joy for everyone dancing. As the host of Hey Mister Jesse, Yehoodi's monthly podcast about swinging music that matters to dancers, Jesse reaches beyond the dance floor. With an international audience of swing music lovers, Jesse interviews artists, unearths great tunes and inspires dancers to indulge their passion for music. If you haven't danced to Jesse's DJing already, each month you can find Jesse DJing at The 9:20 Special in San Francisco and LindyGroove in Los Angeles.
Jerry Warwick - Dallas, TX
Lindy Hop & Blues
"Hey, Jerry, I have a request. Could you play something crappy so I can rest? I haven't sat down since you started DJ'ing." I love it when I hear this while I am in the DJ booth. And don't get me wrong, I have lots of crappy music, I just know not to play it. Knowing what to play, when to play it and how to keep the dancers on the floor is what I love to do best.
I have been DJ'ing swing and blues for dancers since 2001. I've seen lots of trends in lindyhop and blues dancing and in the music and it continues to get better and better. I am looking forward to coming back to ALX to throw down with all the other great DJs.
Freddie Dickinson - Seattle, WA
Lindy Hop
A rip-roaring harmony hound, Freddie is hot and anxious to play savage rhythms until all the cats join in. Spreadin' rhythm around night and day, Freddie knows how to get rhythm in your feet and music in your soul. He's brought lindy hoppers delight at every tub from Seattle to Herrang, playin' that old fashioned swing with the latest jada-jing. If he could be with you just one hour tonight, you'll be rockin' in rhythm till your naughty sweetie sends you viper mad.
Hometown DJs
Mike Roberts
Lindy Hop
Mike Roberts has been a regular DJ for the syndicate since 2004, and a DJ for the San Antonio Swing Dance Society before that. Since beginning Lindy Hop in 2000, he has expanded his listening preference from Metallica to all kinds of dance jazz, and listens to it constantly. He loves it so much that he has taken up the ukelele. And the archtop guitar. And, most recently, the upright bass. And, in between his full time job and traveling around the country teaching and competing in Lindy Hop, he has put together a mini band of other Austin jazz enthusiasts who get together and practice the music they love so much. He loves that this new, deeper understanding of music has enriched his ability to dance to it and loves to share his knowledge with anyone who asks (hint, hint).

George "Whitey" White
Lindy Hop
George has been a DJ in the Austin scene for years, but has really become a favorite since classic jazz became more appreciated. He is great at this genre and has won, hands down, a contest in jazz trivia (prize - Miles Davis CD, hmm...). He is excellent in a variety of tempos and we think you'll really love what you hear.
David Bradford

Some of his favorite musicians are Chick Webb, Earl Hines, Duke Ellington, Fletcher Henderson, and most all the bands currently in New Orleans.
Joanna Lucero
Lindy Hop
Joanna owes her love of jazz era music to her slightly unhealthy childhood obsession with watching I Love Lucy. The show introduced her to classic tunes such as Sweet Sue, Shine on Harvest Moon, and Sweet Adeline at a very young age and piqued her interest in all things old-timey. Through dancing, Joanna has expanded and refined her knowledge of jazz music to cater to dancers of varying styles — lindy hop, charleston, balboa, and blues. She has spun tunes in Rochester NY, Atlanta GA, San Francisco CA, and now fills the ears of dancers in Austin TX. Her goal as a DJ is to keep that driving energy for the dance alive on the floor and in dancers’ hearts.
Ben Luhrman - San Antonio
Lindy Hop
Ben Luhrman has been DJing swing events in San Antonio for the past four years. His inspiration and music choices come from his father and grandfathers’ love of vintage jazz greats. Ben has been listening to artists such as Jelly Roll Morton, Artie Shaw, Lu Watters, Turk Murphy, and The New Orleans Rhythm Kings since he was a very young boy. His appreciation for quality, danceable tunes makes him a versatile DJ. Ben believes that he can help spread the joy of lindy hop and jazz through his DJing.

As a DJ, Sonja strives to create sets that combine her love for her old blues heroes and her new discoveries. Above all, she wants dancers to have as much fun out on the dancefloor as she is having grooving at the DJ table. She has been dancing since 2003, journeying from St. Louis to the Boulder/Denver area and finally landing back home in Austin after a detour through Madrid, Spain.
Shane Chambers
Blues
Shane has been hanging out in seedy little juke joints back east, listening for the the best dance music he can find. And find it he has. Most of it ends up on the internet radio station he spun up a few years back, Big Blue Swing.com. What happens to the rest of it, or maybe we should say the best of it? Well, that gets served up to all the swing, and blues floors he comes across. He specializes in both modern swing bands (NOT neo-swing!), and the dirty, sultry blues that make you want to grab a partner and mmmhmmm dance.
Thain Maurer
Blues
Thain has been dancing and djing since 1997 ago as part of a cunning plan to take over the world. So far the world domination aspects of the plan seem to be going slowly. However, he has managed to spin for dozens of major events and venues, all across the country...
...next, the rest of North America,
then the WORLD!!!
